Michigan Water Wonderland Winnies
A State Club within the WIT Club
Chartered July 9, 1972
As owner’s of Winnebago Industries products, we have been sharing adventures and our wanderlust for travel since 1972. Our diversity allows everyone to feel welcome. Whether you are working or retired and have children or grandchildren, our primary focus is to have fun enjoying each others company and benefit from a combined Winnebago ownership experience.
Water Wonderland Winnies (WWW) consists of 3 local chapters. Each local chapter meets one weekend a month to camp together at campgrounds throughout Michigan and nearby states. Each spring and fall a local chapter hosts a Michigan Campout for a weekend of games, entertainment and fellowship. Our Michigan State Rally gives us even more opportunities to share the enjoyment that our Winnebago products provide as we prepare for the WIT Club Grand National Rally (GNR) at Winnebago Industries in Forest City, Iowa. Check out what’s going on in our local chapters by clicking the local chapter link under Michigan Links, or access the local chapters directly from the local chapter drop down menu at the top of the page.
We are more than a club, we are family. If you own a Winnebago Industries product we encourage you to join our WWW family, and look forward to including you in enjoying the camaraderie that we find so rewarding. Check out our Michigan Water Wonderland Winnies Award Winning Website to find out how we can enrich your Winnebago lifestyle experience.
Welcome Winnie RVer’s,
Well, here we are with the start of a new WWW year. I have been sworn in as the new WWW President for the next two years. I am excited to get started and will bring my own ideas and personality to the job. I just hope that we can be as successful the next two years as our previous President, Judy Ruth, has been for the last two years. However, all the accolades should not only go to Judy. Judy could not have accomplished all that she did without the help of her lovely husband Bert. Knowing Judy and Bert, I am lucky to have such willing helpers if I need a hand. Judy and Bert are just a phone call away.
We just had our 2016 June Rally at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Belleville, MI. We had 44 coaches and everyone had a great time.
Some of the things we did were:
- Tour of the Ford Rouge Plant
- A display of new coaches by General RV of Brownstown
- Building and racing of Pinewood Derby cars
- A variety of vendors
- Giving out great door prizes to everyone, and many more things.
During the next week or two, many of us are heading to GNR. Our Michigan Row decorations will be filled with Michigan made items. A big thanks has to go out to Judy Ruth and Joy Stoltz who are coordinating the decorations and the Row Party venison stew we are giving out. Of course, the venison is from Michigan. As usual, I know we will all have a great time.
Next we quickly move to September and have our annual State Fall Campout. This will be at Hidden Ridge RV Park on Sept 9 and 10. Hidden Ridge is in Hopkins, MI. This is a great park and it is very close to General RV in Wayland, MI.
The following Executive Board members who are giving of their time and efforts freely for the next two years to serve our members are: Bill Battle – 1st VP, George Krec – 2nd VP, Bev Garcia – Secretary, Nancy Yates – Treasurer, and Judy Ruth as Past President. The rest of the board is made up of our three Presidents from the State Clubs. They are: Bill Hornsby – Cereal City Campers, Jan Sagle – Lansing Area Winnies, and Skip Yates – Motor Cities Winnies. Without our Executive Board the WWW would not exist. Please acknowledge their dedication to WWW whenever you can.
Anyway, happy travels and I hope to see you along the way somewhere in our big country.
Bob and Bev
